LOCATION

Estancia Vik Jose Ignacio sits on 4,000 acres in the rolling countryside of Jose Ignacio, Uruguay. The Estancia borders the Arroyo and the Laguna Jose Ignacio, which meet the Southern Atlantic just two kilometers away. Jose Ignacio is approximately twenty kilometers northeast from the coastal city of Punta del Este.

DESCRIPTION

The Spanish colonial-style building is a 50,000 square foot structure designed by Marcelo Daglio and the owners. The traditional estancia features white adobe walls and red tin roofs with covered walkways linking multiple outdoor courtyards and idyllic gardens. The expansive patios feature outdoor seating areas, sculpture installations, respites from the sun and a large herb garden.

The south side of the Estancia boasts a large grass covered garden and 20 meter pool made of Absolute Nero stone. The bottom of the pool is dotted with fiber optic lights, which mirror the constellations above.

SUITES:

The Estancia’s private living space is separated into two wings, each containing six bedroom Suites. Of the six suites in each wing, there are four 500 square foot Suites on the ground level and two 900 square foot Master Suites on the second floor. The Suites all feature full bathrooms with separate bath tubs and rain showers, with the Master
Suites also including outdoor showers on the patio. Each suite also has a full built-in closet, which is a walk-in closet in the Master Suites, and private access to the exterior patios surrounding the Estancia.

All twelve private Suites have a unique design and display and integrate original art conceived for each space by leading contemporary Uruguayan artists.

SERVICES AND AMENITIES

Guests will enjoy the twenty-meter Absolute Nero granite swimming pool, gym and spa, private polo field and stable of Criollo riding horses. The polo field and adjoining golf green will offer a wonderful golf practice area. Handmade canoes, kayaks, kites and wind surfers, sail boats and fishing equipment are all available to enjoy the arroyo and
nearby lakes. Nature walks and bird watching, tennis, bicycling and hiking are all part of the activities available. The expansive property is host to riding and polo horses, farm animals, and indigenous wildlife. A game room with a pool table, table tennis and a variety of other games
is found in the Estancia house. A romantic chapel nestled in a grove of ancient native trees has been created for weddings and other special events. Guests of Estancia Vik are also encouraged to visit the beach, which is located two kilometers away and is easily accessible by horseback, bicycle, or motorized vehicles.
